Wolf conservation and management in Oregon is a popular but contentious topic. In the decade since contemporary wolf reestablishment in Oregon, the Oregon Dept of Fish & Wildlife has developed a robust wolf program, guided by the Oregon Wolf Plan. This presentation will provide an update on the status of wolves in Oregon, policy and direction provided in the Plan, agency activities, and predictions on the future of wolves in Oregon. Join the Lewis and Clark Chapter to hear more from Derek Broman from ODFW on this interesting topic.
Derek Broman is the Carnivore-Furbearer Coordinator for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and has been with ODFW since 2015. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Luther College (Iowa) and a Masters in Wildlife Ecology from the University of New Hampshire. He studied numerous carnivore species in the Midwest, New England, and Texas prior to arriving in Oregon. His duties include managing the ODFW Bear, Cougar, Wolf, and Furbearer Programs. He offices at the ODFW Headquarters in Salem.
This meeting will be held at a members’ home. Members, please see your email for location details and directions.
