Enjoy hearing an excellent message from our 2018 Keynote speaker, Greg Stube.
Greg was raised primarily in West Tennessee where he enjoyed a true American boy's life in the outdoors, becoming an avid hunter and fisherman at a very early age. Greg joined the United States Army where he eventually became a Green Beret. He was seriously wounded during Operation Medusa in Afghanistan, September 2006. As his fighting vehicle moved up a hill, it was hit by an IED - seriously wounding. Focusing on his wounds and pulling from his Special Forces medical training, Stube guided other SF A-team members in combat trauma care until he was moved out of danger.
His awards include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, multiple Army Commendation Medals, multiple Army Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, multiple Expeditionary Medals, multiple NATO Medals, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Romanian Parachutist Badge, the German Silver Marksmanship award, as well as the Special Forces Tab and many other notable military honors.
Today, Greg joins us in the midst of his newest mission in life -- his post-retirement objective of bringing home the leadership principles and values that he learned on the battlefield; and perhaps more significant, are those he learned in the hospital. His renewed purpose in life is the application of those principles and values to the betterment of our society, and the preservation of our outdoor culture.
